Well, Boston’s preliminary election results have come out in the usual dreadful PDF format for Boston election results. But luckily, with some Excel wizardry I’ve been able to pull out the results and create some lovely graphs. In the interest of just getting the data out, I’m giving minimal commentary below. And at least thus far, I’m just focusing on city council at-large as the race that is both most competitive and most difficult to quantify. This is a living document though - if you’d like to see more graphs about the mayoral or particular district races, please let me know and I’ll be happy to prioritize them! But I should be adding more where my whims take me.
Note: all of the data for these graphs is here if you click on “Get the data”. Getting it from me will be a lot easier than ripping it off of the PDF on boston.gov, let me tell you.
Somehow Onuoha snuck into the general election despite carrying almost none of the city compared with the other challengers. Meanwhile, Jean, who carried an admittedly small but supportive section of the city, is off the table.
Just for fun. Onuoha has probably solidified himself as the most mid candidate.
